More than 1,000 Signature staff members registered for the recent Spirituality LearnFEST, a virtual learning conference that encouraged participants to consider the impact of spirituality, if fully activated, in a long-term care environment.
And that number doesn’t even include the many who joined in groups, in offices, breakrooms and wherever there were TVs or computers at Signature centers across 10 states to view the live broadcast. The event featured sessions that tied spirituality to numerous aspects of long-term care and health care, from clinical care to legislative involvement and the impact of spirituality in the workplace.
Today, we celebrated Mr. Levi Nichols’ successful graduation from the rehabilitation program at Signature HealthCARE of North Florida.
A resident of Alabama, Mr. Nichols decided to complete his short-term rehabilitation with Signature Rehab therapists. He received 24-hour skilled nursing care while recovering from his recent and unexpected medical setback.
This is the second time Mr. Nichols has chosen us as his short term rehabilitation center. Mr. Nichols worked daily with occupational and physical therapy to increase his upper and lower body strength, balance, and safety with standing balance. He also focused on being able to perform his activities of daily living tasks independently for a safe return home.

Congratulations to Mrs. Nelda Hurst on completing her comprehensive occupational and physical therapy rehabilitation stay!
For the second time, Nelda chose Signature HealthCARE of North Florida and Signature Rehab as her providers of choice to complete her in-patient rehabilitation. While recovering from surgery, Mrs. Hurst worked with adaptive equipment to reattain her independence with activities of daily living and walking, and she increased her strength and range of motion in her weaker leg.

“Magical” was the word of the week as 85 elders and stakeholders from various Signature HealthCARE communities arrived at Walt Disney World for the final vacation of 2014.
This is the fourth consecutive year we have taken groups of nursing home residents on the vacations of their dreams. In past years, large groups have traveled to a single destination. However, last year, in an effort to accommodate a wider variety of preferences, Signature took smaller groups to several different destinations, including Boston, Atlantic City, Panama City Beach and Gatlinburg.

These words, in many ways, defined 2014 for Signature HealthCARE. The Revolution brought our total number of locations to 125. We welcomed new centers to the family and took pivotal steps to position SHC as an integrated care network capable of meeting health care needs across the full spectrum of care. We expanded into new business lines while continuing to enhance and invest in existing service offerings.
This Veterans Day, Signature HealthCARE would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to all of our nation’s military veterans, and those still actively serving. We especially want to thank all of our residents and stakeholders who served our country.

Signature recently held its Hometown Film Festival, an annual event in which nursing home residents create original films to compete for funds to go on vacation. Scripts are largely written by nursing home residents, who also star in the films. In 2014, more than 25 films were submitting, including the one above by (facility name here).

On October 9, 2014, 99 Signature HealthCARE centers across the southeast and midwest will induct over 400 distinguished individuals into the Hall of Fame, in local ceremonies featuring celebrity speakers and presentations about the inductees lives and accomplishments.
